London, UK. 21st September 2017. People hold up posters at the protest opposite the Eritrean Embassy calling for the release of Eritrean Journalists and politicians arrested and held without trial since 2001. On September 18th 2001 Eritrean dictator Isayas Afewerki closed all independent media and began the arrests of journalists and opposition politicians, imprisoning them without trial. Today was the anniversary of the arrest of Seyoum Tsehaye, head of television after Eritrea gained independence in 1993 and, six years after his arrest named Reporter of the Year by Reporters Without Borders.
