Vertine comes enclosed in its walls originally wall circuit was developed with a roughly elliptical pattern and was punctuated by several towers, one of which, at the main door was the Keep, a solution similar to Tignano . Today the wall is missing in some places like the back of the church and near the south gate, which was placed exactly opposite to that of the deck. The two ports are connected by a street that still bears traces dell'acciottolato medieval. The deck, fully restored in the late twentieth century, consists of a massive rectangular tower, covered with rows of limestone, which in correspondence with each floor arched windows open, the inside is a door jambs with sandstone. Beside the deck is the only door that has been formed by a rounded arch above a brick arch. In the town of Vertine are many contemporary buildings to the deck giving the village a typical medieval aspect. Of note is the large building located in the south that has a thorough coating and rows of limestone for its grandeur may have been the residence of the lords.
