Leaf miner moths. Close-up of horse chestnut leaf miner (Cameraria ohridella) moths stuck to fly paper. These moths lay their eggs on the leaves of the common horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) tree. The hatched larvae then migrate to photosynthetic parenchyma cells within the leaves to feed. This causes defoliation of the tree due to a reduction in photosynthesis and dehydration. Photographed in Poland.
