Speed check on the A 583, Disused Gatso Fixed Speed camera, being replaced by mobile Police laser van detection vehicle operated by Lancashire Constabulary, Safety Partnership, Blackpool, UK

The Gatsos were taken out of action in 2001 after new guidelines were issued ordering forces to stop fleecing drivers. But Police chiefs decided to leave them up as a speeding deterrent - which they insist has worked.
