Hands making an etching; Hands Etching; Etudes à l'Eau-Forte. The hands of the artist who is etching. The left hand is based on the copper plate, the right hand uses the etchings. On the foreground on the left there are some pointed needles and two burins that are used to engrave. The copper plate is drawn up slightly. The motto 'o Laborum Dulce Lenimenis' is derived from Horatius'Carmina (I, ) The text means: 'Sweet allocation of effort and worries'.
