In the course of the excavation of the ruins of Buckfast Abbey, Devon,accomplished in 1883 by the Benedictine Fathers, now happily estabhshed in that ancientHome of their Order, a Bulla of this very Pope, John XXII, was discovered; an exactrepresentation of which we are enabled to insert here, by the kind courtesy of the Abbatof Buckfast. Pope John XXII was elected on the 7th of August, 1316, and crowned onthe 5th of September following.
