Picking up theold Lord Henry Bentinck strains, Lord Lonsdalepurchased extensively from Mr W. M. Wrought onskennel, and the South Cheshire when Mr ReginaldCorbet gave up the mastership, paying somethinglike 3000 guineas for the pick of the Cheshirebitches. The most famous couple were War Cry,1906, by Warwickshire Sampson, 1900—SouthCheshire Wedlock, 1903; and Hecuba, 1906, by. 7. Wroughton gave up the master-ship of the Woodland Pytchley, Lord Lonsdalewas again an extensive purchaser, paying 200guineas for a single hound.
