He wanderedup and down the faces of the earth, peeringinto the hearts of men, but God was not he saw evil thoughts, and misery,and vile plagues which scourged the landas a thresher flails out grain. In his quest he grew to be an old despairing of the inhabited regionsof the kingdom, he sought the seclusion ofthe hills and mountains. He had given uphis quest. His only thought was to find asolitary place and die. Towards evening of a glorious day hetoiled upwards to the top of a thickly woodedhill.
