Aksaz, Turkey (Nov. 12, 2013) - Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Charles Chance mans a M2HB .50-caliber machine gun aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Stout (DDG 55) while departing Aksaz Naval Base, to support Exercise Dogu Akdeniz 2013. The exercise was hosted by Commander, Turkish Fleet to support interoperability efforts. Stout, homeported in Norfolk, Va., is on a scheduled deployment supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 6th Fleet area of operation.
