Felipe Cazals Siena (1937-2021) was a director, screenwriter and producer of Mexican cinema, several times awarded the Ariel Prize. He received the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival for Canoa and the Silver Shell for best director at the 1985 edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival, for The Motives of Light.
