Starting to cut a face for stone extraction at Elm Park underground quarry Garstad, Wiltshire England UK The engineers are using a shearer saw to cut a new heading corridor in the extraction of Elm Park stone The stone is buff coloured oolitic limestone from the Great Oolite of Middle Jurasic Age. The excavated rock is used for various purposes including construction ornamentation restoration road and house building and in industrial raw materials such as concrete.
