Figure 24 gives an enlarged view ofone of the corners of the Baden swinging litter, andenables the transformation of the litter into a camp-bedstead, by reversing the lower framework, to bemore readily understood. With the extraordinaryfacilities afforded at the Paris Exposition of 1867,experiments were also instituted with the spring-stretchers of M. Grauvin, medecin-major in theFrench army. This stretcher is designed to be carried either by hand, oron wheels, or on the floors of transports of any description. Very favor-able reports were made of the experiments conducted on the railway.
