A German knightly sword, circa 1100 A heavy, double-edged blade with narrow fullers on both sides running the length of the blade almost to the point. Silver inlaid cross on one side, the opposite side displaying an "S" in a circle. Widely extended quillons, rectangular in cross-section, curving slightly toward the blade. Remnants of the original(?) grip cover. Half round pommel, ridged on top. Cleaned excavation discovery with small restorations in places. Length 100 cm.
