The chil-dren were not the only ones who saw the graceful fig-ure, but the other observer did not run to meet lay very still in a rolling chair, closely covered witha warm rug—a tall young man, with keen, dark eyesand a very white face. Every morning the children saw him, and felt verysorry for the big man who could not run and thought he must be very sad and very old, for hewas so still; but in reality he was twenty-four, and hewould like to have been running and swimming farmore than any of his small admirers
