Light micrograph of candida, a type of fungus that can cause infections in the oral cavity. The candida organism are the many black structures. The candida organisms are present as spores (small round structures) or pseudohyphae (linear structures). The background is stained with a green counterstain to help highlight the positive staining organisms. Magnification: 400x when printed at 10 cm
