WATERS SOUTH OF JAPAN (Dec. 4, 2018) Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Torpedo Chief Hajime Kusaba, assigned to the JMSDF destroyer JS Hyuga (DDH-181), asks Sonar Technician (Surface) 2nd Class Rebecca Pocza, from Virginia Beach, Va., a question in the sonar control room aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65). Benfold is forward-deployed to the 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
