The former Royal Naval College Greenwich, formerly Greenwich Hospital and now parts of it are used as educational establishment

The old Royal Naval College Greenwich, formerly Greenwich Hospital is now run by Greenwich Foundation for the Old Royal Naval College and houses the University of Greenwich and Trinity College of Music. The site was originally the Palace of Placentina, but more commonly called Greenwich Palace. Mary I and Elizabeth I were both born here and the palace was said to be a favourite of Henry VIII. The Royal Hospital for Seamen at Greenwich was built on the site in 1692 on the instruction of Mary II, the old palace being demolished about this time having gone into disrepair during the Civil War.
