The travertines, otherwise known as Cotton Castle at Pamukkale in Turkey. The pools in the foreground are natural thermal pools.

The late afternoon sun shines over the most spectacular section of natural thermal pools at Cotton Castle at Pamukkale in Turkey. The pools, also known as travertines, were formed over thousands of years after calcium carbonate rich spring water flowed over the hillside and deposited the silt as it cooled.
