Its height abovethe surface of the water is three hundred and nine feet and its span is two hun-dred and seventy-eight feet. The existence of this natural wonder was first disclosed to William , an examiner of surveys of the General Land Office, on August 14,1909, by a Piute Indian called Mikes boy, later Jim, who was employedin connection with the survey of the natural bridges in White Canyon, Utah.
