Image showing a later type of dugout used during World War One. The dugout features a corrugated iron arch set in concrete ten feet underground, with an air space for shock absorption. The second layer is made of concrete surfacing with granite blocks to resist bomb concussions. The dugout is also topped with sandbags and a thick bomb plate covering.
