Taking up theconformation of the fore legs, of the 32,902 horses re-ported as unsound, 11,165 of them were reported un-sound in front. As regards these, 10,378 were reportedwith short and straight pasterns. Upon the other hand, horses purchased with goodfeet, but short, straight pasterns, soon became crippledin their feet.
