It can be seen thatthese ulcers arise from the confluence of numerousmiliary tubercles. The ulcers are covered with yel-lowish-white pus. The process gradually extendsover the normal mucous membrane. Tubercle bacilliwere not found in the pus, but an extirpated por-tion of the mucous membrane, which was rubbed upwith normal saline solution and injected into the peri-toneal cavity of a guinea-pig, produced tuberculosisin the animal. The patient is a weak anfemic child, six years old,and suffers also from a pannus scrophulosus of
