Perfect Kiva, a reconstructed ceremonial chamber from Bears Ears National Monument.
Light shines in from the opening of Perfect Kiva. Is that an offering their descendants have left of corn and beans? Perhaps the remnants of an ancient meal? The timeless spirits of the ancients fill this small room: the scent of burned wood, the dusty air, the still quiet that stirs the imagination. The people who lived here as they migrated south developed smaller villages, to which these miniature ceremonial chambers were a central part.
