Royal Air Force 1939-1945- Fighter Command The Focke-Wulf FW190A was arguably the best fighter in the world in the summer of 1942, but it was not invincible. This one's demise was captured by the gun camera of an attacking Spitfire over France in July 1942. Another Spitfire can be seen in the background.
