Cashe, an 81st RD coin after the rededication ceremony, March 25, 2022, in Sanford, Florida. Family and friends gathered at the Sgt. 1st Class Alwyn C. Cashe Army Reserve Center for the rededication ceremony to upgrade his medal from the Silver Star to Medal of Honor. Cashe was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor by President Joe Biden at the White House December 16, 2021.
