Jordan, son of Abram and Mary(Snyder) Jordan, spent his childhood and earlyboyhood at Hillsdale, New York, attending thepublic schools, where he obtained a practical ed-ucation. He has been amember of the Royal Arcanum since its incep-tion. Air. Jordan married, May 27, 1861, Elean-or E. Blake, of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, eld-est daughter of Thomas and Alary (Smith)Blake, who had six children, namely: Eleanor,Fannie, wife of James T.
