John P. Banasik reports business as unusually satisfactory with the West- ern rioral Co., 2347 West Chicago ave- nue. This has been a busy month for An- ton Then, Jr., who rides the city routes for his father. The wagon makes daily trips taking orders and making de- liveries. A big lot of bedding stock has occupied attention since the Easter plants were cleaned up. A new motor truck will soon replace the horse and wagon. The filling of window boxes and planting of bedding stock is keeping all hands busy at the establishment of Geo. Wittbold Co., on Buckingham place. The demand for geraniums is fast eating up the large stock on hand. Mrs. Carrie A. Maher, nee Eiseman, wife of John T. Maher, died May 21 at the Wesley liospital following an oper- ation for appendicitis. Besides her hus- band, she is survived by a little son, John T., Jr. Before her marriage, Mrs. Maher was for a long time employed by the Atlas Floral Co. A new concern has been organized under the name of the Chicago Feed & Fertilizer Co. The incorporators have all been identified with the fertilizer trade of Chicago for many years and are as follows: President, John P. Bowles; vice-president, F. 8. Markey; secretary, W. K. Love; treasurer, Chas. Goepper; manager, F. E. Moore. F. 8. Mavkey was formerly identified with the Farmers' & Florists' Tankage Fer- tilizer Co. He states that John Tip- lady, formerly gardener for A. B. Dick at Lake Forest, has been appointed sales manager and will assume his du- ties June 1. The sidewalk in front of the store of W. W. Barnard Co., on West Madison street, presents the appearance of an old-fashioned garden. Bedding stock of all kinds is displayed and the ad- vertising value is well demonstrated by the crowd
