Kodiak Solstice Jump Week, hosted by the Air Force’s 3rd Air Support Operations Squadron, combines the 3rd ASOS with the 1st Battalion (Airborne), 501st Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division in a joint environment to standardize airborne tactics at Hangar 1, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, May 18. The training consists of practicing with different kinds of parachutes, such as MC-6 and T-11, and simulating landing in various environments ranging from water to trees.
