Voting results ceremony at WV 150th Statehood Anniversary. On Saturday, June 22nd, 2013, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park hosted an array of events commemorating the 150th anniversary of West Virginia’s statehood. At the commencement of the visitor voting, a ceremony was held in the Event Tent where the results of the voting were announced: West Virginia would join the nation as the 35th state. Cake and lemonade were served to all visitors.
