Recent explorations have revealed mummies of cats, some that had beenburied with great pomp, proving that great respect was shown even to thedead. In Egypt privileges were given to cats that were denied to workmen. THE WILD CAT. Perhaps the best known of all the felines is the Wild Cat. It is quite acommon mistake to confuse the domestic cat that has run wild with the truewild cat. The latter is found all over the world. It is very rare in the BritishIslands, on account of its having been killed by the preservers of game, and it WILD CAT.
