In the periphery of these structures are found extensive hemorrhages into the connective tissues and these are in turn surrounded by strands of connective tissue and by blood vessels. The entire region between the tubes and the outer hemorrhagic zone is filled out by embryonal placenta. The embryo proper corresponds to a developing guinea pig at a stage directly following the formation of the germ Please note that these images are extracted from scanned page images that may have been digitally enhanced for readability - coloration and appearance of these illustrations may not perfectly resemble the original Lillie, Frank Rattray, 1870-1947; Moore, Carl Richard, 1892-; Redfield, Alfred Clarence, 1890-; Marine Biological Laboratory (Woods Hole, Mass. ); Marine Biological Laboratory (Woods Hole, Mass. ).
