At the Missouri State Fair the Archias Seed Store, of Sedalia, was awarded a first premium for its exhibit. The trade in fall bulbs generally has been good and stocks are very much reduced among all seedsmen. Hubbard squash is another of the very scarce items. Sixty cents per pound has been paid for good sized lots at whole- sale. The L. F. Jones Seed Co., of Grand Rapids, Mich., has removed to 11 North Ionia street, nearer the market and an excellent location for its business. J. M, Thorbukn & Co , have incor- porated their concern, with a ? capital of $300,000. The directors are F. W. Bruggerhof, E. E. Bruggcrhof and Emily Thorburn. Sioux City, Ia.—The Sioux City Seed Co. has begun the erection of five gran- eries for seed corn and on October 19 made an offer ot sixty cents per bushel for a lot of white shelled. The Funk Brothers Seed Co. was incorporated at Springfield, 111., Octo- ber 29 with a capital of $25,000. The company controls 25,000 acres of land in McLean county and will devote same largely to the growing of agricultural .seeds. The incorporators are B., E. D. and D. M. Funk and the stockholders are Messrs. Lafayette, E. D., D. M., Isaac Sr., Isaac, Jr., Lawrence P., Arthur and F. Funk, and L. H. Herrick, W. K. Bracken, H. M. Rawlens, Frank H. and T. Dwight, Geo.
