David Fullmerwas Treasurer, and James Lewis, Secretary. The chancellor, regentsand secretary, besides taking the usual oath of office, were eachrequired to give bonds in the sum of $10,000. The treasurers bondwas 1100,000. At the initial meeting of the board of regents, onMarch 13th, 1850, three of its members were appointed a committeeto act with Governor Young in selecting a site for the Universitybuilding, as well as locations for primary school buildings. Section11 of the original charter of the institution provided that $5,000 beannually appropriated by the Legislature for the support of theUniversity. Another section made it the duty of the Chancellor andboard of regents, as soon as the financial condition of the institution. ««(r™m45-o,K&
