1905 photograph of the AA's (Automobole Association of Britain), first patrolman or 'Scout' with bike on the Brighton Road - He later became Superintendent of patrols in the Brighton area. He is see wearing his armband and prominent badge number 180. --- On 19 June 1905, Charles Jarrott and Walter Gibbons, Charles Jarrott, Ludwig Schlentheim & Alfred Harrismet met at the Lyons Trocadero Restaurant in Shaftesbury Avenue, London ,to form the 'The Motorists' Mutual Association', (MMA).Just a week later, on 26 June, the MMA committee changed its name to The Automobile Association.
