Boat moored on the banks of River Thames at the Bell Rope meadow at Cookham, Berkshire, UK

Cookham is a charming historic town next to the River Thames in Berkshire and is well know as a Thameside resort; it is famously associated with Sir Stanley Spencer who lived in the village until his death in 1959 and used Cookham as a backdrop in many of his paintings. Another well known resident was Kenneth Grahame the author of Wind in the Willows.
