The sewer drainage settles in ths ditch alongside the retainingwall for perhaps 150 feet before reaching the sluggish current of the river itself. Whenthe ditch becomes clogged it is dugout, and the contents thrown on the dry bed betweenthe ditch and the river must remain there until washed into the middle of the streamby high water.
