Home Office, Marsham Street, London, UK. 25th January, 2016. A number of protesters calling themselves “Never Again Ever”, a coalition of human rights groups, dumped a pile of shoes outside the Home Office in central London this morning as part of a pro refugee vigil. The activists, demonstrating two days before Holocaust Memorial Day, associate the shoes with those left outside gas chambers in the Nazi death camps and linking them with the current refugee deaths which they believe are a result of government anti-migrant policy in the Calais camps.
