UK, England, London, Hayes, The Grand Union Canal passes the former Nestlé Coffee Works (Now Demolished)

The first factory on this site was opened in 1913 by Eugen Sandow, famous in his time as "Sandow the Great", manufacturing the cocoa for which he attributed to his massive strength. His Sandow Cocoa Company went into liquidation in 1916 with its assets passing to The Hayes Cocoa Company, which was eventually bought out by Nestlé in 1929. This became the site for manufacturing the new Nestlé Instant Coffee in 1939. In 2015 the plant finally closed, and the site is now being redeveloped by SEGRO plc in partnership with Barrett Homes. This image was taken in January 2015, before demolition of the site began. The art deco façade of the original building is due to be preserved.
