PHILLIPS Chosen as Second Counsellor by PresidentAlexander P. Anderson was Elder Phillips fromFresno, California, who has laboured in theMahia and Otago Districts during his time inNew Zealand. He was a Senior Elder in theMahia District and was District President in theOtago District for three months. Before his mission, he attended the BrighamYoung University and he has spent some time inJapan when his father was in the service. Hisgrandfather was also a missionary to New ELDER ALVIN J. SMITH Elder Smith has been selected as the MissionSecretary of the New Zealand South Mission. Hocomes from Brigham City, Utah, and attendedthe Utah State Agricultural College, majoringin Business and Accounting prior to his missioncall. His duties will involve the financial accumu-lation and disbursal of the Now Zealand SouthMission funds and he will be accountable formost of the transactions of a financial nature inthe mission.
