instructor pilots assist an Afghan Mi-17 pilot into a safety harness before his first orientation flight in the Afghan UH-60A Black Hawk Oct. 3, 2017, at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. Mi-17 pilots are retraining to the Black Hawk and are expected to fly the aircraft by the end of 2017. The UH-60 is part of a multi-year modernization plan for the Afghan Air Force.
