Careful attention is, of course, paid to de-scribing, as far as possible, the actual state orcondition of books; whether, for instance, theyare in the original covers, or have been at someperiod rebound; whether the edges are in theiroriginal rougfh state, or have been cut down inbinding; whether the volumes are clean or inany way soiled or defective.
