Canal Street, Digbeth, Birmingham, 21st August 2024 - Construction ongoing of the new BBC studios in Digbeth, Birmingham. When complete, Midlands and other BBC productions will move from The Mailbox and other areas into the city's creative quarter in the Digbeth site. The building being converted is the old Typhoo Tea factory which ran from 1929 until it closed in 1978, ever since the factory lay derelict and unused. When completed, the new site will be next door to HS2, allowing staff to commute to and from London easily. The building also starred in Steven Spielberg's film, Ready Player One
