Magnificent Landscape of Jordan’s southern desert Wadi Rum


Wadi Rum area covers some 720 square kilometers on the southern border of Jordan and its unique geology attracts many. The beautiful desert known also as The Valley of the Moon is famous for its sheer sandstone cliffs granite peaks and red sand dunes. In the picture a young Bedouin man from the Howeitat tribe sits next to huge slab of sandstone that broke off the cliffs above. This particular spot lies on the route to Rakabat Canyon, a chasm that dissects Jebel Umm Ishrin
