'Lipan-Warrior', c1857. A Lipan Apache warrior, drawn by Arthur Carl Victor Schott for The United States and Mexican Boundary Survey (1848-1855). Schott was a German-American topographical engineer, cartographer, botanist, ethnographer, artist and geologist and worked for the United States Boundary Commission as 'special scientific collector'.
