On the morning of hisdeath, about ten oclock, he tried to speak and found he had a dead palsy inhis tongue; then he knew what was to become of him, he felt there was thenno hope of his recovery; so presently he sends for his young nephews to comeup to him, and gives to one of them his watch (a minute-watch with whichhe made experiments); to another, some other remembrance; then he signedto Sambroke his apothecary, to let him blood in the tongue, which did littleor no good, and so he ended his days.
