Captured Africans is a memorial on Damside Street, Lancaster near St Georges Quay on the River Lune by artist Kevin Dalton-Johnson.


Captured Africans - part of the Slave Trade Arts Memorial Project - Slavery Memorial on Damside Street, Lancaster. STAMP (Slave Trade Arts Memorial Project), inaugurated in September 2002, was an ambitious arts education outreach project. It culminated in this permanent memorial to Lancaster's role in the slave trade on the quay side in 2005. The artist was Kevin Dalton-Johnson. This photograph shows the whole of the memorial from betwenn front and side on.
