Here Charles Brandon married Alary, Dowager Queen ofFrance. Six or seven times more Henry kept Christmasat Greenwich. In 1543, the last occasion, he entertainedtwenty-one Scottish gentlemen, taken prisoners, and releasedthem without a ransom, being to the end, whatever else hewas, a Prince of most Princely gifts and graces. Queen Mary was born at Greenwich in 1515. CardinalWolsey was her godfather. King Edward the Sixth died here.
