The specimen has been preserved at the ArmyMedical Museum, [No. 164, Medical Section.] Congenital displacement of one of the kid-neys was observed in two cases; in case 97 the left kidney reposed on the promontory ofthe sacrum, and was supplied by four renal arteries given off from the bifurcation of theaorta, [No. 525, Medical Section;] in case 317 the right kidney reposed upon the secondlumbar vertebra, and was converted into a cyst containing several ounces of an amber-colored liquid, [No. 361, Medical Section.] Finally, in case 811 a considerable numberof calculi, composed chiefly of oxalate of lime mixed, however, with some phosphates, werefound in the pelvis and calyces of the left kidney, [No. 593, Medical Section.].
