A Chalcidian helmet, 2nd half of the 6th century Bronze. The skull section is strongly set off with a narrow, almost horizontal neck flange. Typical face cutout with a small nasal and reinforcement band riveted on the inside. Extended curving cheek pieces. Small crack and ancient repair on the left ear cutout. Remnants of solder from a decorative border formerly set along the lower rim. Larger solder remnants on the skull where a plume holder used to be attached. Height cm. Weight 823g.
