Northamptonshire, UK. 30th Sept, 2014. UK Weather. Although it looks like the sheep are grazing on meadows, it is actually the Hollowell Reservoir bed, which has been exposed to the sky without water, allowing plants to grow on it which the sheep seem to love. Hollowell Reservoir in Northamptonshire is extremely low, around 50% of its normal level. Northamptonshire has only had 58% of its average rainfall from January to the end of September, making it the driest first ten months of the year since 1929. © Paul Marriott/Alamy Live News
